Get Involved

UCSA deeply believes in empowering current and future students to advocate on their own behalf for the accessibility, affordability, and quality of the University of California system; as it is stated in our mission statement. To bring about real and lasting change in college affordability and access, students must organize strategically around supporting student aid reform and opposing divestment from higher education on state and campus levels.

Sounds like a big job? It's not!  When you get involved your voice joins the thousands of other voices fighting for the quality, accessibility and affordability of the UC system. Simply click on the campaigns below to learn how you can get involved:

Save Our State, Fund Our Future

The Issue -  Tuition has nearly doubled over the past 5 years and increased more than 200% in the past decade. The UC Regents are considering a proposal to increase our tuition up to 16% every year for the next 4 year, which would bring tuition up to a staggering $22,068 by 2016

The Problem - The State of California is broke! California does not have enough money because it is not taking in enough revenue. Also, corporations are not paying their fair share.

Our Solution - Elected officials must support new taxes in 2012 to fund education, and reform our commercial property tax system. The UC Regents and CSU Trustees need to reject fee increases and support new taxes. We need you to GET INVOLVED!

Stop University of California Campus Police Brutality

UC students and the public are deeply appalled and angry about the recent incidents of police violence against non-violent student demonstrators.
Now is the time to call for clear and unequivocal condemnation of these actions and concrete steps to ensure that this does not occur in the future. (photo credit:Brian Nguyen)
