Help Save Higher Education

Your business can help families send their children to the University of California. By supporting the 9th Annual University of California Student Association (UCSA) Student Lobby Conference, you will be helping the more than 200,000 students attending the UC continue to advocate for a public education for everyone.

On Feb. 25-28, 2011, hundreds of UC students from across the state will converge in Sacramento to meet with legislators to address rising student fees and the lack of financial aid for AB 540 students. These are students who immigrated to the United States as children, graduated high school in the United States and who pay full college fees without any hope of receiving financial aid. These students bear the brunt of the fee increases, as do middle-class families who are not eligible for any grants — only loans. Students are leaving school with large amounts of debt. If the fees continue to rise, more students will leave before they graduate and join the unemployment lines.

In addition to lobbying their elected representatives, students will attend workshops and trainings throughout the four-day event to sharpen their knowledge of issues affecting them and develop their skills. We welcome your organization’s support in helping us achieve our goals by becoming a conference sponsor. 

UCSA will provide opportunities for your organization’s sponsorship and tax-deductible donation to be recognized on our website, and other online social media formats, through informational tables and displays, your company’s ad in the official conference program and special recognition during the banquet ceremony.
